Paul Hekkert is Professor of Form Theory and in the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft University in Holland. Matthijs van Dijk is CEO of KVD design consultancy and Professor of Applied Design at TU Delft.

Guidebook? Or showcase?

An excellently presented book with some quality showcasing work contained within.
What I was hoping for was a little more insight into the frameworks of design that are introduced at the beginning of the book. As a practitioner I found that the link between the fundamental framework and the case studies was more implicit that immediately useful or explicatory.

Future-driven design

Cet ouvrage est incontestablement orienté vers l'innovation, j'ai acheté ce livre dans le cadre d'un cours sur le design d'interaction (université Laval-Québec).
L'approche « ViP » (Visual In Product design) est une façon différente d'appréhender le design, de par sa démarche (structurée, mais non contraignante) cette méthode nous conduit vers une vision plus élargie des opportunités de design.
L'ouvrage est écrit d'une manière très didactique avec énormément de mises en situation et d'exemples. (je ne sais pas si le design de livre est le fruit de la méthode ViP, mais en tout cas il est sexy !!!!).
L'expérience de la méthode dans le cadre du cours était très « rafraichissante », ça m'a donné le goût de l'appliquer dès que possible.
