About the Author
Robert Konopaske received his PhD in Business Administration at the University of Houston, a masters in international business students from the University of South Carolina, and a BA from Rutgers University. He has taught at the University of Houston, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Florida Atlantic. He is an associate professor of management and principles of management coordinator at McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. Rob is very passionate about providing students with an exceptional learning experience. He has received numerous teaching honors, most recently the 2014 Gregg Master Teacher Award. He consults, trains, and conducts research projects for a wide range of companies and industries.

Thomas Bateman received his PhD in Business Administration from Indiana University. He is Bank of America professor and management area coordinator in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. He also taught at Kenan-Flagler Business School of The University of North Carolina to undergraduates, MBA students, PhD students, and practicing managers. He also taught for two years in Europe as a visiting professor at the Institute of Management Development (IMD), one of the world's leaders in design and delivery of executive education. Professor Bateman is an active management researcher, writer, and consultant.

Scott Snell received his BA in psychology from Miami University, as well as MBA and PhD in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He is a professor of Business Administration at the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining Darden faculty he was professor and director of executive education at Cornell's University's Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies and a professor of management in the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University. He was recently listed among the top 100 most-cited authors in scholarly journals of management.

Shows the Multi-dimensional Side of Michelle Obama

The writers recall what they know about Michelle Obama’s life. One of the writers mentioned about Michelle Obama taking her daughters to dance lessons and movie play dates on Saturdays (I take it to mean before her husband became President). There is mention about some of the women connected andor knew Michelle Obama (Cindy Moelis, Valerie Jarrett). However, I was shocked to see that even Michelle Obama had to undergo great judgment from others when a writer wrote an article for New York magazine about Michelle Obama and the Vineyard vacation spot. I admit that one of the reasons why this kindlebook caught my attention was because my husband and I mutually agreed that Michelle Obama running for President one day would make a good Presidential race. However, I want to refrain from saying more for now to try to keep things drama-free because I do come from a racially diverse family (family members of Native American, Caucasian, andor African American/Black American descent)where I know of at least two of my family members who expressed support for Trump becoming President. However, one of those family members is from my late adoptive mother’s side (she was an American born woman of Caucasian descent) and they provide emotional support and encouragement to me through both the challenging times of my life and good times. The other family member who expressed support for Trump becoming President is my 78 year old adoptive father (American born man of Mexican and Aztec Indian descent)who took me in as his own daughter when he didn’t have to when I was just a few months shy of 8 years old.

Janine Verduci is a writer and teacher recognized for her poetic works like, “The Boots of a Soldier” and “Inspire”. My 3 little girls and I loved it! Keep writing

An epidemic of 160,000 children missing school each day because of bullying this is clearly a topic which is very needed to address in our children today! Author Janine attacks this difficult subject with grace and beauty. Everyone wins at the end of of this well written book. Thank you for this marvelous resource to our children! My 3 little girls and I loved it! Keep writing!

Having played with a practitioner in this style before I found the book to be useful as a review. Writing style could have been greater as author is clearly an amateur. But with that said the author does a good job presenting a lot of good information.

A splendid introduction of this rare branch of wing chun.

This appears to be the first, and only, book published in english on this relatively rare branch of wing chun. It covers, among other things, the history of this branch of wing chun (which may be eye-opening to those of other lineages), the basics, the twelve conceptual methods, and the sup yee sik (the twelve forms) - my favorite section of the book. Coming as I do from Yip Man's wing chun lineage, I've always been intrigued, and never really understood, this training platform.� However, the book's explanations and application photographs finally clarified for me how the concepts are extracted from these general techniques and then expanded and/or linked to create new and surprising applications.�
Two other aspects of the book make it particularly noteworthy. The first was that the demonstration of the siu lien tao, wing chun's first form, was by Ngo Lui-Kay, one of Grandmaster Sum Nung's personal disciples.� And second, the author avoided the hackneyed combat applications that are all too common in wing chun books and instead presented richer, more interesting technical expressions.�
It's really a fine effort - and one not to be missed.

If you must choose one book => this one !!

Sorry for my english (I'm french). I'm practicing martial arts since about 15 years now (fist/foot boxing + tai chi) and discovered wing chun about 1 year ago. I read lot of books on wing chun (I think "most" of them) because I'm leaving in the countryside and can't get easily class of wing chun (a pity). Anyhow, I manage to train daily .
Rene Ritchie - & Ngo Lui Kay sifu - book is BY FAR the finest I bought. It covers 12 simple attack/defensive mvts + the 1st form. EACH mvt of the 1st form is shown with splendid & reallistic explanations + fighting applications that allow you to really possess the form and to train even if you are no more a beginner. Each applications is VERY cleverly choosen to light a new concept of the mvt of the form.
Thank you so much M.Ritchie for this book. I'm waiting for the next books YOU MUST WROTE : the ones on 2nd/3rd form and wooden dummy :)
